ABOUT
Vintage Marine Service is a sole proprietorship owned by Oliver Waterhouse focusing on maintenance and restoration of Classic watercraft with over eight years of industry experience.
Having been around boats from a very early age helping maintain the Andrew’s Panther launch owned by my family, I have been fascinated by all things marine and mechanical.
My first introduction into wooden boat restoration was at Peter Freebody & Co where I had the privilege of doing work experience and spending my school holidays helping out at the yard. After qualifying as a Mechanical Engineer and Machinist I returned to Freebody’s, full time, perfecting my craft for over seven years restoring Riva, Chris-Craft and traditional Thames launches. With this expert experience and knowledge in 2021 I decided to set up my own business as a mobile Marine Engineer. Recently I collaborated and worked closely with the excellent and highly skilled Team at Michael Dennett Boat Builders on larger restoration projects, Dunkirk Little Ships, Star-Craft and other historic vessels.
With the experience I gained working alongside the best craftsmen in the classic marine industry I have now established my own premises and workshop with specialist equipment dedicated to the preservation and bespoke restoration of vintage watercraft.
